Privacy Policy

Night Shift does not collect anything. Not anonymously, not in aggregate, not for analytics. This page explains why that is a structural fact rather than a promise, and what the few parties involved in selling you a watch face do handle.
Who is responsible
Andreas Paphitis, an individual developer, is the data controller for this website and for the Night Shift watch face. Contact: paphitisbiz@gmail.com.
What the watch face collects
Nothing. Night Shift is built with Watch Face Format, a declarative format in which a watch face is a description of what to draw rather than a program. Its manifest declares hasCode="false": the installed package contains no executable code at all. It requests no permissions and has no network access. It has no mechanism through which data could be collected, stored or transmitted, whether I wanted one or not.
What it reads on your watch, and never sends anywhere
The face changes with your day, so Wear OS supplies it with a few values while it is drawing. These are read by the system on the watch and used only to decide which pixels to light. They are never transmitted, never stored, and I never see them:
- the time and date, to draw the clock and pick which pose is shown
- battery level and whether the watch is charging, to draw the battery gauge
- the number of unread notifications — only the count, never their contents, senders or apps — to light a beacon on the skyline
- the accelerometer angle, to shift the character slightly as you turn your wrist
None of this leaves the watch. The face cannot send it, because it has no code and no network permission.
What Google handles
Night Shift is sold through Google Play. Google processes your purchase, payment and any refund, and acts as the seller of record. That relationship is between you and Google and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. I do not receive your name, address, email or payment details.
Play Console shows me aggregate figures: how many purchases were made, in which countries, on which device models, and any crashes. None of it identifies anyone. If you leave a public review, I see it exactly as any other visitor does.
If you email me
If you write to paphitisbiz@gmail.com, I hold your email address and whatever you put in the message, for as long as it takes to sort the problem out and a reasonable period afterwards in case you write again. I do not add you to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list. I do not pass it to anyone.
This website
paphitis.pro is a set of static files hosted on Firebase Hosting. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no trackers and has no comment or sign-up form. Firebase, as the host, processes standard server request logs including IP addresses for delivery and security; that processing is Google's and is covered by the policy linked above.
Children
Night Shift is a watch face rated for everyone. It is not directed at children specifically, and it collects no data from anybody regardless of age.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict and port your personal data, to object to its processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. In practice the only personal data I hold is the contents of support emails — write to paphitisbiz@gmail.com and I will action any of those for you. For anything held by Google as part of your Play account or purchase, use your Google Account controls.
If you are in Cyprus, the supervisory authority is the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change ever meant the app started collecting something, it would be announced in the app's release notes on Google Play as well, not quietly edited in here.
