This is the first analog face in the catalogue. Your dial is a night-navigator's brass compass, and the hands are its needles. Choose your navigator, Aoi or Ren, who plots the course at the chart table below while the sky turns in the cabin's porthole.

In development: the artwork is finished and the face is built and validated, but it has not yet been tested on a physical watch.

A real analog dial

Hour, minute and second hands turn over an engraved compass rose. The second hand ticks once a second; in always-on mode only the hour and minute hands remain, thin and dim.

Everything reacts

Every second the second hand ticks and the lodestone inset needle leans to how you hold your wrist.
Every minute the next lamp on the plotted course lights up, one for every ten minutes past the hour.
On the hour Aoi takes a bearing: the sextant lifts and a gull crosses the window for a few seconds.
On charge the lantern oil refills with a highlight running up the column.
Battery low and the flame gutters red while she rests at the chart.
New messages arrive as sealed dispatches with a signal ring (only the count is read, never the content).

A day at the chart

The sky in her window follows the day in six steps, from coral dawn to a dark blue night, and Aoi's task changes with it — reading the chart, plotting a course, working by lamplight. A specimen jar on the sill changes with the seasons.
